A four-alarm tore through a steel manufacturing business in Sunset Park on Wednesday morning.

Helen Zhao, who owns Luxurious Stainless Steel Inc., watched with her family across the street as firefighters spent hours battling the blaze that engulfed her 45th Street business near Third Avenue at 8:30 am.

Emily Zhao — Helen’s daughter — said they picked up a lease to the building three years ago, and suspects the fire may been caused by the aging structures aging electrical system.

“The electronics are too old,” said Emily, referring to the building’s wiring.

Luxurious Stainless Steel Inc. is a “professional manufacturer of Stainless Steel products” according to its website, and the company’s sign listed doors, windows, railings, balconies and stairs as some of the many products the company makes for its clients.

Apartment buildings directly across 45th Street lost electricity because of the fire, and smoke permeated many of the neighboring buildings.

Three firefighters sustained minor injuries, acc0rding to FDNY spokesman Brian Fitzgerald, who noted the cause of the fire has not been determined.
