Motorcyclist dies after colliding with crossover vehicle in East New York

A motorcyclist died after colliding with a car in East New York on Saturday morning, police said.

Jermaine Boston, 39, was riding his gas-powered bike on Linden Boulevard toward Pennsylvania Avenue, when he crashed into the back of a Nissan Murano crossover around 10:30 am as the driver of that car crossed Linden Boulevard while traveling on Hinsdale Street toward DeWitt Avenue.

The woman behind the wheel of the crossover drove from Hinsdale Street across the 9-lane Linden Boulevard after stopping for a funeral procession traveling on that road toward Pennsylvania Avenue, which Boston was trailing behind on his bike when he hit the four-wheeler, cops said.

The woman stayed at the scene, and authorities discovered Boston lying in the street with trauma to his body after the collision, police said.

Paramedics rushed the driver and motorcyclist, who lived on Long Island, to Brookldale Hospital, where doctors pronounced her in stable condition and him dead, officials said.

Cops made no arrests and are still investigating the fatal crash, a Police Department spokesman said.
