Motorcyclist dies after collision with sport utility vehicle in Brownsville

A motorcyclist died when he and a driver collided in Brownsville on June 8.

At 7:11 am, police responded to a crash at the intersection of Linden Boulevard and E. 98th Street, and found a 29-year-old with head and body injuries lying in the street. Rescuers brought him to Brookdale Hospital, where died from his injuries, according to police.

The man was riding his 2011 Suzuki motorcycle along Linden Boulevard towards E. 98th Street when he collided with a 27-year-old woman driving 2010 Land Rover sport utility vehicle heading the opposite way on the boulevard, attempting to turn left onto E. 98th Street, said police, citing a preliminary investigation.

The identity of the man is being withheld until his family is notified, according to police.

The police Collision Investigation Squad is handling the investigation. The woman stayed on scene and there are no charges at present, but there could be at a later time, a police spokesman said on June 8.
