NIGHT PROWL

NIGHT PROWL

"Brooklyn by Night," an exhibition
of oils and watercolors by painter Tom Keough, is on display
now at the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment [Tennis
House in Prospect Park, enter at the Ninth Street and Prospect
Park West entrance, (718) 788-8500].

The artist paints at twilight and into
the night, accenting the outlines of trees and interiors of homes
in his compositions. A detail of "Webster Place Summer"
(1999) is pictured at left. BCUE is exhibiting 25 of his nocturnal
landscapes in this free exhibition.

Brooklynites will have an opportunity to
meet the artist as he leads a twilight walking tour of Park Slope
and Prospect Park on April 21 as part of BCUE’s public tour program.
Tourists will see the Slope through the artist’s eyes as darkness
descends on Brooklyn. Call (718) 788-8500 ext. 401 for details.

The exhibit will be on display Saturdays
and Sundays through June 3, noon to 5 pm. For more information,
visit www.bcue.org on the Web.
