A 61-year-old Police Department tow truck driver died behind the wheel of his vehicle in Marine Park on Monday night after suffering an unspecified “medical episode,” according to authorities.
Anthony Edgehill — a long-time driver for the Police Department’s traffic division — was driving south on Flatbush Avenue at around 5:51 pm, when he crashed his truck into a tree at low speeds near Avenue R, cops said.
First responders arrived on the scene to find Edgehill “unconscious and unresponsive,” before taking him to nearby Mount Sinai Hospital in Midwood, where doctors pronounced him dead, according to authorities.
