Off-duty S’Park police officer arrested on charges of forcible touching, sexual abuse, harassment in Coney Island

Police arrested and charged an off-duty Sunset Park police officer with two counts each of forcible touching, third degree sexual abuse, and third degree harassment in Coney Island on Aug. 24.

Police arrested Tauseef Malik — an officer in Sunset Park’s 72nd Precinct — just before 11 am at Surf Avenue and West 15th Street, police said. The New York Post reported that Malik allegedly harassed two people — including a police colleague who is also allegedly the wife of a sergeant — at a department boxing event the night before, but police only confirmed that the incident occurred “at a boxing event in Coney Island.”

Malik is suspended without pay, according to police.
