Cops are searching for a killjoy who is stealing purses from cubbies at Luna Park in Coney Island.

The thief has hit six storage boxes near the Steeplechase, Soaring Eagle, and still-under-construction Wind Star roller coasters since May 2, police said. He is operating on weekend afternoons — five of the six thefts occurred between 4 pm and 6 pm, and all were on Saturdays or Sundays, officials said.

The thief struck at the following dates and times:

• May 2 at 6 pm

• May 10 at 6 pm

• May 10 at 6 pm

• May 17 at 2:40 pm

• May 17 at 4 pm

• May 23 at 5 pm

Cops collared a guy for allegedly swiping stowed stuff on May 10, but they couldn’t say whether they suspect it was the same burglar they are looking for in the above incidents.

The amusement park is taking the thefts seriously, a spokesman said.

“The thefts in question are isolated incidents and have occurred not from the secured lockers but from open cubbies placed outside of certain rides and meant for small items,” said Bruce Bobbins, a park spokesman. “We urge all our guests to use the secure lockers for all their personal valuables. At the same time, we have increased our security efforts by installing more cameras and increasing patrols by our security personnel.”

Police are asking anyone with information Crime Stoppers at (800) 577–TIPS, log on to www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or text tips to 274637 and enter “TIP577.” All calls are strictly confidential, police said.
