Police: Guy attacks woman and steals her phone

72nd Precinct

Sunset Park–Windsor Terrace

Cell of a guy

Cops arrested a man for allegedly beating and robbing a woman on 21st Street on May 14, taking her phone.

The victim told police she was arguing with the suspect between Fourth and Fifth avenues at 10:55 pm when the man grabbed the phone from her hand and started walking away.

When the woman attempted to reclaim her cell, the guy slapped her in the face and then shoved her to the ground, according to police.

A man witnessed the theft from his nearby home and called police, who showed up to cuff the man on a felony robbery charge, cops said.

Driver duped

A brazen thief looted the cab of a box truck parked on Fourth Avenue while the driver rooted around in the back on May 20.

The victim told police he was in the back of his box truck parked between Third and Fourth avenues at 8 am, only to discover upon returning to the driver’s seat about 15 minutes later that some crook had nabbed his speakers, phone charger, and wallet.

Tough luck

A burglar looted $700 from the register of a 25th Street gym on May 18.

The store’s owner told police that he received a cellphone notification that the alarm at his fitness center between Fourth and Fifth avenues had been tripped at 3:25 pm, and he rushed back to find that a register there had been ransacked.

Family plan

Police cuffed a woman for allegedly stealing her boyfriend’s phone on Seventh Avenue on May 19.

The victim told police his better half snatched the cell from his hands between Jason Ruiz Way and 59th Street at 8:40 am, before taking off on foot to parts unknown.

So the guy called the cops, and together they searched for the victim’s paramour, eventually finding her in possession of the man’s phone, and they quickly busted her on a felony larceny charge, according to police.

Import export

A thief rode off with a man’s $10,000 motorcycle he parked on 65th Street on May 19.

The victim told police he left his 2018 Yamaha R6 between Second Avenue and the Belt Parkway at 5 am, and returned a few hours later to find his import crotch rocket stolen.
