Cops are investigating the identities of two victims whose dead bodies they pulled from water near the Brooklyn Army Terminal three days apart.
A witness on March 13 called authorities after spotting the remains of a man floating in the water off 58th Street at 11:14 am, and officers with the Police Department’s Harbor Patrol recovered the decomposing body, which they handed off to paramedics roughly 20 minutes later, cops said.
And on March 16, another tipster called 911 at 7:01 am after seeing a woman floating in the Bay Ridge Channel off 56th Street, prompting officers with the Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit and paramedics to rush to the scene, where they pulled the body out from Pier 4 and pronounced the victim dead, according to officials.
Authorities at this time do not believe the incidents are connected, according to department spokeswoman Sgt. Jessica McRorie.
Investigators described the man as six-feet tall, more than 300 pounds, and in his ’30s, and hope the public may recognize him by tattoos on his left arm, which include a money bag, boxing gloves, and the phrase “Cheat 2 Win” surrounding a skeleton with a top hat.
McRorie described the woman as approximately five-feet-six-inches tall with dark-colored eyes, and cops turned both bodies over to the city’s Medical Examiner, who will determine cause of death, officers said.
