Police searching for man who allegedly assaulted emergency medic in ambulance

Police are asking the public to help identify a man who allegedly assaulted an emergency medical technician while he was being treated in an ambulance near Midwood on Aug. 7.

The alleged assault occurred around 12:15 pm, when police say the man punched the medic in the chest several times in the ambulance at the corner of East 15th Street and Kings Highway. The man then fled the ambulance on foot in an unknown direction, and the emergency medical technician was treated for his injuries at a local hospital, according to the report.
