Purse snatched

A purse snatcher stole a woman’s pocketbook outside of an Avenue U shopping mall on April 30.

The jerk grabbed the bag from the 61-year-old woman as she was leaving the shopping center between Flatbush Avenue and E. 55th Street at 7 p.m., before fleeing towards Avenue T, cops said.

Identity theft

A fraudster charged $404 to a department store using the stolen identity of an E. 74th Street woman on April 27.

The victim told cops she received a bill in the mail at her house between Avenues V and W on May 1. She has not made the charges, and immediately alerted authorities, according to police.

Rental rouser

A thief used an E. 72nd Street man’s stolen credit card to rent an apartment using an online rental service on April 28.

The victim, who lives between Avenues L and M, was applying for a loan on May 3, when the bank alerted him to the unknown outstanding charges of $1,346, cops said.

The location of the ill-got rental is not yet known.

Engaged

A filcher stole an engagement ring from an E. 56th Street home sometime between April 21 and April 28.

The victim left the ring in a box on the ground floor, while multiple people had access to the home, between Avenues J and K. The woman realized the ring was missing on April 29, and reported the theft to police at 2:30 p.m., according to cops.

Shoplifter

Cops cuffed a shoplifter who tried to steal clothing from an Avenue U department store on April 3.

The perp collected the items in a bag, before attempting to flee the store between Flatbush Avenue and E. 55th Street at approximately 5 p.m., said cops.

Store security stopped the 29-year-old thief, and police arrived shortly after to arrest her, according to officials.

Boat-jacker

A home invader stole an expensive motorboat engine from a Flatbush Avenue garage sometime between December of 2018 and May 2, when the homeowner was on vacation.

The perp broke the lock on the garage door of the home between Avenues S and T and made off with the engine, cops said.
