Police are hunting a group of thieves wanted for a string of violent subway robberies in Kensington and Windsor Terrace last month.
A witness told cops that one of the victims, a 28-year-old woman, was on a southbound G near the train’s Church Avenue terminus at 1:30 a.m. on July 20, when a woman sprayed some substance in her face and tried to grab her purse. The victim resisted, so her attacker and a male accomplice resorted to punching in her the face, before hightailing it with her valuables, cops said.
Five days later on July 25, a woman demanded a 64-year-old man’s phone on the Manhattan-bound F train near the Fort Hamilton Parkway station around 4 p.m., according to police.
Like before, the victim refused to hand over his cell, so the woman, joined by two other goons, attacked the man, breaking his ribs and knocking out some teeth, before fleeing with the victim’s phone, tool bag, and $320 in cash, according to the authorities.
Paramedics brought the second victim to Brookdale Hospital for treatment of his injuries, cops said.
A surveillance video obtained by police shows two people suspected in the robberies, one of them holding a backpack, who was spotted running away from the platform and through turnstile following the first robbery.
