Bike bandit

A thief stole a man’s bike from inside his car parked on Clinton Street sometime overnight on Oct. 15.

The victim told police that he left his vehicle near Sackett Street at 10 pm, and when he returned at 9:30 am the next day, he found the passenger-side rear window shattered and his Cannondale bicycle gone.

Copper copped

A purloiner stole copper wire from a manhole on Dwight Street sometime between Sept. 25 and Oct. 15.

The prowler opened a manhole cover on the sidewalk near Wolcott Street and stole 12 six-foot copper cables owned by Con Edison sometime between noon on Sept. 25 and 2 pm three weeks later, according to police.

Drugs in a drugstore

Cops cuffed a man for allegedly trying to rob a Smith Street pharmacy on Oct. 13 and carrying drugs.

Officers say the suspect tried to steal merchandise from the store near Warren Street at 11:45 pm, and when they arrested him, found him with methadone prescribed to someone else, according to the police report.

Police said that the suspect had previous notices for trespassing.

Sign, steal, deliver

A freebooter stole a delivery bicycle from outside a restaurant on Smith Street on Oct. 11.

The victim told police that he noticed that a delivery worker’s green bike with a basket was missing from outside the eatery between Union and President streets at 10:40 pm.
