See it: Thief snatches Hasidic man’s hat in Williamsburg

Police are looking for a nogoodnik who snatched a Hasidic man’s hat on Wallabout Street in Williasmburg Friday evening. 

The 27-year-old victim was walking near Marcy Avenue at 6:15 when the thief ran up from behind and swiped his traditional fur Shtreimel and bolted, according to surveillance footage from the scene released by cops. 

A second security camera captured the filcher running with the $8,000 hat on Walton Avenue near Harrison Avenue and police described him as wearing a grey hoodie and sweatpants and between 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 tall. 

The police’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident.
