Yoga never gets old!

Springy seniors assembled in Fort Greene’s South Oxford Park on Monday for a free yoga class put on by parks event group the City Parks Foundation. One longtime yogi had nothing but praise for the chakra centering sessions, recommending that all oldsters pick up the classes to boost their stamina and make some new companions.

“I wish all seniors would do yoga classes,” said Thelma McLaughlin, who has been getting stretchy for five years. “It lifts your energy levels and most importantly I gained lifetime friends.”

The classes meet twice a week for eight weeks as part of the city’s senior fitness program for New Yorkers over 60 years old, which also includes tennis lessons and fitness walking.

McLaughlin has arthritis and says the sessions have helped her stretch out her back and keep her feeling limber.

“It really has helped a lot,” she said.
