A new seven-story residential building will rise from a Manhattan Beach parking lot.
Developers from the Manhattan Beach Jewish Center plan to erect a 23-apartment complex at 51 West End Ave. between Shore Boulevard and Hampton Avenue — directly across the street from the synagogue, Department of Buildings filings show.
The first floor will include a medical center occupying a quarter of the development’s total floor area, and the roof will feature a terrace for residents, plans show.
The new housing, which will also include a 12-car garage, will replace an empty lot currently used for parking, city records show.
Red Hook architect Harry Simino from will design the building. Developers filed plans for the building on May 9, city records show.
Officials at the synagogue declined to comment.
Manhattan Beach Jewish Center also houses two schools — the Shulamith School for Girls and Yeshivat Yedidim — and the Manhattan Beach Neighborhood Senior Center.
