Something’s gotta give! Yeah — you!

Something’s gotta give! Yeah — you!

The economy is in the tank — so our leaders are talking about either tolls on the East River bridges or higher subway fares (or both). So we hit the streets to find out whether Brooklynites think the bridges should be tolled or the fares should be hiked (or neither!).

“I’m against raising the fare. The city’s not doing well. It would be better to charge for the bridges.”

“There’s no money for the subway, but they’ve got those new stadiums up.”

“I go with the bridges. To get from point A to point B you have to pay. Nothing is free in America! Plus more people take subways. Since there’s less people on the road, they should pay.”
Alfonso Atkinson, Bushwick

“I say there should be tolls on the bridges because people who drive are supposed to have money. In this economy, if you don’t have money, then you shouldn’t be driving!”
