Son allegedly kills father in Flatlands

A man allegedly murdered his father at their Flatbush Avenue home on May 6.

At around 10:30 am, police responded to a 911 call about an unconscious male at the building. They found an unconscious and unresponsive man with neck trauma. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead on the scene, according to police.

The man was later identified as 43-year-old Troy Jones of Flatlands, police said.

Less that 12 hours later, police arrested 23-year-old Tyemear Jones at 9:45 pm in connection with the killing charging him with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to police.

Troy Jones was Tyemear Jones’s father, according to a police spokeswoman.

Authorities believe the younger Jones fatally stabbed his father.

“Preliminarily, it looks like a knife,” said a police spokesman.

The incident remains under investigation, he said.
