Cops arrested an alleged assailant after several hours of searching on Wednesday.
On July 11 at approximately 5:21 a.m., the officers responded to an assault call at a home on Coyle Street near Marine Park. According to an NYPD spokesperson, the department’s Emergency Services Units, hostage negotiation team, and Technical Assistance Response Unit responded to the call.

Upon arrival, officers were told that a 43-year-old male had allegedly punched and slapped the 21-year-old victim in the head following a verbal dispute. Emergency responders treated the victim at the scene of the crime.
The alleged attacker was not discovered at the home, and cops launched an hours-long search in the neighborhood. After nearly 12 hours, suspect Anthony Bifulco was finally arrested and charged on Wednesday at approximately 3:09 p.m.

Bifulco was charged with a litany of crimes including two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, fleeing an officer and reckless driving.
