Teen arrested for slapping woman

76th Precinct

Carroll Gardens-Cobble Hill–Red Hook

Slap happy

Polic arrested an 18-year-old man who they say slapped a woman on Baltic Street on June 1 — and then slapped him with possession charges after finding weed and Zanax in his backpack.

The victim told police that she was between Clinton and Court streets at 4:43 am when the suspect smacked her in the face. Cops arresting the suspect reported that he ripped a button off of one of the officer’s uniform, and stated, “I would rather die than be arrested.”

When they searched his backpack, they found marijuana and Zanax, cops said.

Check fraudster

A 16-year-old boy was arrested for stealing checks from a woman’s Summit Street apartment on May 21, which he forged and cashed to the tune of more than $1,000.

The victim told police that she left her apartment between Henry and Hicks streets at 10:59 pm and returned later to find that her checkbook was missing several checks.

When she made an inquiry with Citibank, she found that the missing checks were made payable to the suspect, who withdrew $1,050, according to police.

Punch and threaten

A 42-year-old man was arrested for beating a woman and threatening to shoot her children on Dwight Street on May 31.

The victim told police that she was near Wolcott Street at 7:30 pm when a man punched her in the face, then threatened her children.
