To The Editor:
I normally would never respond to a “Name Withheld” letter, but the letter you printed from this angry and very mistaken writer left me no choice.
You see, I have been an active parent for 10 years at PS 207 and PTA president for five of those years so I feel that I should share with you the real PS 207 that I know very well and consider a blessing not only for my child, who is a student there, but for the 1,100 children who attend.
First and foremost the leadership of PS 207 is superb. Our Principal Mrs. Bosco is beyond dedicated to her entire school community. She encourages and assists her staff to be the best they can be so that in turn they can teach the children of PS 207 to the best of their ability.
Mrs. Bosco knows every child by name and has the highest of standards set for each one of them. Our assistant principals work diligently on a daily basis assisting Mrs. Bosco and being strong role models for our staff and children. Our teachers work tirelessly to ensure that our children learn and thrive so that they can reach their full potential.
The PS 207 staff gives their all so that our children are always in focus. The parents of PS 207 volunteer hours of their time day after day to help create the best possible school for their children and our working parents support the PTA in every way they can.
Why is PS 207 exceptional? It is exceptional because as noted above we work as a team dedicated to the success of every child in our school. It’s too bad the “Name Withheld” writer failed to share with you how beautiful and welcoming our school looked for the first day back.
Blue and gold balloons and banners were displayed to let the children know how happy we were to see them back. Red white and blue was draped around our buildings to show our pride and respect for America and to remember September 11, 2001.
This is the same building the “Name Withheld” writer described as “a dump.”
Shame on him for writing such a horrible letter for not only our principal, teachers, staff and parents to read but the children to read. How dare he describe our principal and school community in such a disgusting way and not even sign his name to his letter.
I will proudly sign my name to this letter because I am proud to be a part of the PS 207 family and happily share with your readers what an incredible school PS 207 is.
