Cops are searching for the bungling bandit who tried — and failed — to rob a Fourth Avenue financial services company in Sunset Park on Aug. 4.
A worker told cops that the crook entered the check-cashing business between 52nd and 53rd streets at 9:50 a.m., when he passed her a note demanding cash and threatening to shoot up the place, albeit, without displaying a gun. The employee pressed an alarm button, and the would-be thief scampered off empty handed, according to authorities.
Anyone who provides police with information leading to an arrest can expect up to a $2,500 reward through the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers program. The public can phone their tips to (800) 577-8477, log into the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdc
