Stealing from kids

A crook stole a youngster’s iPhone 7 from her jacket pocket on Bond Street on Jan. 20.

The theft occurred while the tyke was playing at the site near Douglass Street around 1:30 pm, when she took off her jacket and left it on a bench to play, police said.

Time for detention

A nogoodnik stole a laptop from a Hoyt Street school at some point between Dec. 20 and Jan. 1, someone reported to police on Jan. 14.

The sneak took the computer from the school between Union and President streets.

License lout

A thief stole a license plate from a car parked on Bush Street on Jan. 14.

The incident occurred at the parking spot between Clinton and Henry streets shortly after 10 am, police said.

Shattered

A lout broke into a Degraw Street business and stole $200 and an iPad on Jan. 19.

The incident occurred at the business near Henry Street at some point between 10:55 and 11:05 pm, when the alarm went off at the location and police arrived to find broken glass in front of the store, they said.

Didn’t get far

Police arrested a man who they say used a crowbar to try to break into four cars along Hicks Street on Jan. 20.

The alleged incident occurred at Warren Street between 10 and 10:25 pm, police said.

Drugged up

A baddie stole nearly 90 pills from a man’s unlocked red 2006 Audi, parked on Warren Street, sometime overnight on Jan. 21.

The man told police he left his vehicle near Court Street at 8 pm on Jan. 21, and returned at 5:45 am the next day to find his medication bottles emptied and on the floor of the car, police said.
