Thief takes woman’s bike chained near her building

Bike brigand

A bandit took a woman’s bicycle at Dennett Place on Nov. 2.

The victim told police that her bike was locked with a chain to the gate in front of her building between Luque and Nelson streets, but that a brigand took it and wheeled it away sometime between 8:30 am and 10:20 am.

Unsafe

A thief robbed a health business’s office on Degraw Street sometime between Oct. 9 and Nov. 1.

The looter bagged more than $3,500 from the office’s safe near Columbia Street between 6 pm on Oct. 9 and 10:30 pm on Nov. 1, according to cops.

There were no signs of forced entry at the building or on the door to the safe, police said.

Phone grab

A pilferer swiped a man’s phone at Columbia Street on Nov. 4.

The victim told cops that he was inside his apartment between Dwight and Huntington streets at 11:50 pm with multiple people and when he looked for his phone later he couldn’t find it.

Apple thief

A filcher nabbed a woman’s phone at a store on Beard Street on Nov. 3.

The cur took the victim’s Apple iPhone X without her noticing at the store near Otsego Street at 8:20 pm, according to police.

McRob

A scoundrel stole a teen’s wallet in a fast-food restaurant on Hamilton Avenue on Nov. 2.

The victim told cops that she was in eatery between Centre and Bush streets when she placed her wallet with $20 in it on top of a counter by the register, and forgot to take it when she left. When she went back to look for it at 1:30 pm, it was gone, police reported.

To Infiniti and gone

A car thief took off with a woman’s ride she parked on Court Street on Oct. 31.

The woman told police she left her 2018 white Infiniti QX30 unlocked between Nelson and Luquer streets at 1:55 pm, and returned to find it gone.

The victim had her car keys when she walked away from the vehicle, according to police.

Drug store delinquent

A man was arrested for allegedly trying to steal medicine from a drug store on Smith Street on Oct. 31.

The suspect allegedly removed two bottles of cough and flu medicine and was stopped by security at the store between Union and President streets at 1:19 pm, according to police.

He also allegedly had small amounts of marijuana and a glass pipe on him, cops said.
