Cops are searching for a pair of jewel thieves they say plundered the Kings Plaza Mall over Memorial Day weekend.

The duo allegedly slipped into the mall’s parking garage well after closing on May 25 and pried open a door to the mall. Once inside the shopping center, they apparently dodged security and made their way to a jewelry stand at one of the mall’s kiosks. Surveillance footage shows the plunderers — dressed in dark clothing with their hoods up — digging through glass jewelry cases and appearing to fill a bag with stolen jewels before fleeing back up a staircase and out of the mall.

Once outside, cops said the suspects fled on foot across Flatbush Avenue onto Avenue U, where they headed Toward Ryder Street. The thieves allegedly made of with $55,000 worth of jewels, and have not yet been arrested.

The NYPD asked anyone with knowledge of the incident to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or submit their tips anonymously online or on X (formerly known as Twitter) @NYPDTips.

Crime statistics show that burglary is down more than 11% year-to-date across the city, and nearly 40% in the 63rd Precinct, which includes the Kings Plaza Mall. A total of 26 robberies had been reported in the precinct as of May 26, compared to 42 during the same period in 2023. The Kings Plaza mall has seen its share of crime over the years — in 2023, three men allegedly beat and robbed a 13-year-old inside a staircase at the mall, and in 2022, several teens were arrested in connection with the shooting of a 14-year-old inside the building.
