Thugs steal bike, fire off shots on S. Fifth St.

Heated on Hewes

Two men stole man’s bike and attempted to shoot him as he ran down S. Fifth Street on Nov. 19, police said.

The 25-year-old man said he was riding his black bike down toward Hewes Street at 4:40 am when two criminals confronted him and grabbed his backpack containing a jacket, pants, gray T-shirts, a battery juice pack, and a sweatshirt. One of the men then unveiled a black handgun and racked it, frightening the victim, who ran off and left his bike behind. The victim also heard a shot being fired as he ran.

Cops recovered a shellcase at the scene. The perps possibly hopped into a beige Nissan with unknown plates.

Sketchy situation

Two sketchy suspects attempted to break into a man’s apartment on Montrose Avenue on Nov. 19 — and stopped when the man came home, police said.

The 41-year-old man said he was coming home from work at 10:50 am when he noticed a blue Nissan minivan parked outside his building between Graham and Humboldt streets. When he walked to the door, a person inside the car honked the horn. The man then discovered another perp standing in the hallway, and he asked him who he was and if he was visiting someone. The perp replied that he was waiting for someone upstairs, and then left the building and fled in the Nissan parked out front.

The apartment owner discovered that the door jam to his apartment was broken, though no property was removed.

No silver lining

Two robbers attacked a woman and stole her phone and iPod in the lobby of her Clymer Street apartment building on Nov. 21, cops said.

The 31-year-old woman was walking home from the bus stop at Division Avenue and Clymer Street at 12:45 am when two male teens followed her into the lobby of her apartment building near Division Avenue and pushed her against the wall. One perp displayed a silver gun and yelled, “Don’t move! You better not move!”

After taking her Samsung Galaxy, iPod, keys, bag, and wallet containing $32, the thieves fled down Clymer Street toward Kent Avenue, police reported.

Ex trouble

A woman’s ex-boyfriend attacked her and stole her pocketbook on Graham Avenue after she left work on Nov. 21, cops said.

The 19-year-old female said she came out of work at 7:50 pm and noticed that her ex-boyfriend, 20, was following her. She was cashing a check on Graham Avenue and Boerum Street when the man grabbed her right arm and pushed her into a van, allegedly saying, “You’re making me do this. All I want to do is talk.”

Her pocketbook fell to the ground while she tried to call the police, and the ex-boyfriend allegedly took $200 from the bag. Her then threw coins at the woman’s face, causing lacerations to the left side of her face, and fled on foot down Johnson Avenue, police reported.

Swim away

A criminal jacked a woman’s phone and passport from her locker while she swam at a YMCA on Bedford Avenue on Nov. 23, police said.

The 31-year-old woman said she was at a 1:15 pm swimming class at the gym near Metropolitan Avenue and left her iPhone, hair dryer, passport, and debit cards in her locker. When she returned at 2 pm, she discovered her belongings were gone.

Cops said multiple people had access to the woman’s locker.

Thug attack

Two thugs attacked a woman in front of a Wilson Street apartment building on Nov. 22 and stole her iPhone, purse, schoolbooks, and $500, police said.

The 20-year-old female said she was at the building between N. 10th and N. 11th streets at 11:55 pm when she was approached by two men who grabbed her by the head and punched her in the face, yelling, “Calm down, stay still. Give me everything you have.”

They demanded she give up her belongings and then fled down Wythe Avenue.

The woman said she heard one of the criminals rack the slide of a gun, though she said she did not see the gun itself.

Diamonds aren’t forever

An alleged jewelry jacker snatched a woman’s valuables from her apartment on Kibbin Street on Nov. 22, police said.

The 43-year-old woman said the perps entered her apartment near Graham Avenue sometime between 8:30 am and 1:30 pm through a rear window’s fire escape and ransacked dresser drawers in her and her son’s rooms, taking a wedding ring, bracelets, and watches.

A neighbor said an unfamiliar man was knocking on doors in the building between noon and 12:16 pm.

Locked up

A 13-year-old girl was arrested for assaulting a 15-year-old girl on Grand Street on Nov. 18, police said.

The 15-year-old girl said she was waiting on the sidewalk near Bushwick Avenue for her cousin on Nov. 18 when the 13-year-old approached her and allegedly yelled “I am going to fight you” before hitting her on the left side of her forehead with a master gym lock.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital, and the young girl was arrested on Nov. 20, police said.

Club conundrum

A thief swiped a female party-goer’s bag at a club on Grand Street on Nov. 23, police said.

The 25-year-old woman was at the nightspot between Roebling Street and Driggs Avenue left her bag containing her passport, debit cards, and school ID at her table as she said goodbye to a friend at 1 am. When she returned to the table, it was gone.

Grabbed on Graham

A man swiped a woman’s shoulder bag from her side in front of a Graham Street apartment building on Nov. 23, police said.

The 23-year-old woman said she was walking in front of the building near Cook Street at 12:15 am when a man wearing a black hoodie grabbed her bag containing $300, an LG phone, and her Social Security card. She pursued him on foot toward the Bushwick Houses on Flushing Avenue, but eventually lost him.

ATM assault

A band of bandits attempted to break into an automated teller machine on Berry Street on Nov. 20, cops said.

The perps tried to remove $7,440 from the cash machine at 6:14 am, but were unsuccessful. Camera footage caught them walking down Berry Street.

Boy problems

A robber stole a 13-year-old boy’s phone on Whipple Street on Nov. 21, cops said.

The victim said he was near Throop Avenue at 8:20 am when a man approached him from behind, tapped him on the shoulder, and held out a knife. He then reached into the boy’s front jacket pocket, took out his Nokia cellphone, and fled the scene.
