TONIGHT: Have your say on the streetcar in Red Hook

POLL: Mayor is on board with developer-backed streetcar plan — are you?
Friends of the Brooklyn Queens Connector

Boon for Brooklynites or boondoggle for Brooklyn developers? Let city honchos know what you think about Mayor DeBlasio’s planned $2.5-billion streetcar in Red Hook tonight.

Supporters say the tram will glide between Sunset Park and the northern hinterlands of Queens, ferrying some 50,000 straphangers between transit-starved nabes and business hubs in an eco-friendly way.

Critics decry the so-called Brooklyn-Queens Connector’s hefty price tag, inevitable disruption to traffic and parking, lack of free transfers to other modes of transit, and big-business backers.

Make up your mind or make your voice heard at the Red Hook Recreation Center, which you can reach by either the B57 or B61 buses. If only there was a better way…

Brooklyn Queens Connector meeting at the Hook Recreation Center (155 Bay St. between Henry and Clinton streets in Red Hook, nycedc.com/project/brooklyn-queens-connector-bqx), May 19 at 6 pm. RSVP here.
