Tour de Brooklyn: Five Boro Bike Tour will close roads throughout the borough Sunday

A parade of more than 32,000 cyclists will snake thier way through Brooklyn for the 40th-annual Five Boro Bike Tour, and motorists should expect road closures between 9 am–3:15 pm on Sunday.

The 40-mile, cross-city race begins bright and early on the distant isle of Manhattan and ends in bucolic Staten Island, with the Kings County leg constituting a long middle stretch, as bikers enter over the Pulaski Bridge into Greenpoint, and ride down the coast before departing from Bay Ridge over the Verrazano Bridge.

Expect closures at:

• McGuiness Boulevard between Freeman Street and Greenpoint Avenue, 9 am–1:15 pm

• Greenpoint Avenue between McGuiness Boulevard and Franklin Street, 9 am–1:15 pm

• Franklin Street between Greenpoint and Kent avenues, 9 am–1:15 pm

• Kent Avenue between Franklin Street and Flushing Avenue, 9 am–1:30 pm

• Flushing Avenue between Kent Avenue and Navy Street, 9:30 am–2 pm

• Navy Street between Flushing Avenue and York Street, 9:30 am–2 pm

• York Street between Navy and Gold streets, 9:30 am–2 pm

• Gold Street between York and Front streets, 9:30 am–2 pm

• Front Street between Gold and Old Fulton streets, 9:30 am–2:15 pm

• Old Fulton Street between Front and Furman streets, 9:30 am–2:15 pm

• Furman Street between Old Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue, 9:30 am–2:15 pm

• Atlantic Avenue between Furman Street and Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, 9:30 am–2:15 pm

• Columbia Street between Atlantic Avenue and Brooklyn-Queens Expressway entrance ramp, 9:30 am–2:15 pm

• Brooklyn-Queens Expressway westbound lanes between Atlantic Avenue entrance and Gowanus Expressway, 9:45 am–2:15 pm

• Gowanus Expressway between Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and Verrazano Bridge entrance, 9:45 am–3:15 pm

• The lower level of the Verrazano Bridge, 10 am–3:30 pm
