Two Brooklynites tragically fell to their deaths in separate apparent suicides on Thursday, according to authorities.

A doctor — who neighbors describe as being in his late 60s — took his own life by jumping out of a window of the Oceana Condominium building on Oceana Drive in Brighton Beach at around 8:30 am, officials said.

According to one neighbor, the deceased man’s daughter had tragically died recently after a battle with brain cancer.

A little over four hours later, a 93-year-old man leapt to his death from the fifth floor of a building on Avenue H near E. 10th Street in Midwood, authorities said.

First responders rushed that victim to Maimonides Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The Medical Examiner will determine his official cause of death, according to investigators.

The two incidents do not appear to be related.

If someone you know exhibits warning signs of suicide, do not leave the person alone; remove any firearms, alcohol, drugs, or sharp objects that could be used in a suicide attempt; call the U.S. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at (800) 273–8255; and take the person to an emergency room or seek help from a medical or mental health professional.
