Police are hunting for two men who they say assaulted a man with a baseball bat on New Utrecht Avenue on Sept. 21 of last year after the victim allegedly flirted with the girlfriend of one of the attackers, police said.

The victim is said to have hit on a bartender at the location, and continued to pursue her outside after the bar closed, police said. The men then allegedly approached the man at 75th Street at around 4:30 am with a group of four or five other men and allegedly attacked the man with the bat. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a hospital where he was treated for multiple contusions, a fractured jaw, a fracture in the back, head trauma, a laceration above his eye and swelling to both eyes.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577–8477, or for Spanish, (888) 577-4782. The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
