Two men were shot in front of a NYCHA apartment building in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Tuesday afternoon, according to the NYPD.
Cops arrived on the scene at Stuyvesant Gardens at 770 Gates Ave. just after 5 p.m. to discover a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the thigh and a 32-year-old man who had been shot in the ankle.
Neither victim has been identified by the NYPD.
Emergency responders hurried both men to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in stable condition.
So far no arrests, have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
The shooting came less than one week after a potential gang-related shooting injured four in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Sept. 6.
According to crime statistics, the 81st Precinct has reported nine shootings so far this year with 11 victims. This is a significant decrease from last year where at this time in 2022 there had been 23 shootings with 29 victims.
In December of 2022, a record number of 209 guns were turned in by residents at a Bed-Stuy gun buy-back event organized by Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez and then-NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell.
