Police arrested two teens on Monday for shooting three men, killing one of them, inside a Bushwick playground the week before.
The trio of victims were hanging out in the green space near Knickerbocker Avenue and Madison Street on Thursday, when one of the 18-year-old suspects opened fire at about 6:30 pm, fatally hitting 21-year-old Hamler Cabrera-De Jesus in the back.
The bullets also struck one 20-year-old in the back and elbow, and grazed another’s arm, according to authorities.
Paramedics rushed Cabrera-De Jesus to Wyckoff Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, and took the two 20-year-olds to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition, officers said.
Investigators found three shell casings at the scene, according to a spokesman for New York’s Finest, who said the two suspects were spotted fleeing the scene down Woodbine Street.
But police caught the two suspects on Monday — they slapped the 18-year-old who had opened fire on the victims with murder, and charged his 19-year-old accomplice with criminal possession of a weapon.
