Dressler, the elegant South Williamsburg restaurant known for its burgers and classy American fare, is suddenly no more.

The restaurant took down its regular web site Monday morning, and replaced it with a message to customers titled “Unfortunately.”

“With much regret, an agreement could not be reached for a lease renewal,” said the letter, which was signed by “the Dressler family.”

Dressler opened on Broadway seven years ago, specializing in dishes such as Hudson Valley foie gras, braised duck and Scottish salmon.

The Devlin Metro Group that owns Dressler also owns the Dumont and Dumont Burger, both still open in Wiliamsburg. The goodbye letter also mentioned that the group is working on some new projects in Clinton Hill and Prospect Heights.
