Volatile Molotov! Borough Park pyro lights up bodega

Talk about a hot item!

A disgruntled customer ignited a Borough Park bodega — and its owner — with a Molotov cocktail on April 23, according to cops.

Authorities said that the firebug — described as a 30-something male Hispanic standing between 5-feet-8 and 5-feet-10 — first entered the store at the corner of 39th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway around 1 am, and asked to purchase some items on store credit. The clerk refused, and the angry arsonist stormed out, flipping the worker off from the sidewalk.

Cops say the pyro gave vent to his fiery fury at 1:55 am, when he returned to hurl a flaming bottle of gasoline into the store. The interior immediately erupted into an inferno, catching the cashier’s hair and jacket on fire. The clerk was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Authorities ask that anyone with information about the incendiary incident to phone (800) 577–8477, or to log their leads into www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or text the tips to 274637, then enter TIP577.
