Police are asking the public to help them identify a woman who allegedly stole a black handbag containing $6,200 in cash from an 86-year-old woman on Dec. 24 at a Kings Highway grocery store in Bensonhurst.
The woman allegedly grabbed the unattended bag, which was sitting on a freezer case, at around 5:55 pm from the store at W. Fifth Street before fleeing in an unknown direction. The store’s cameras captured the woman leaving the supermarket, according to police.
The woman is between 45- and 55-years-old, 5-foot-7, approximately 180 pounds, with a heavy build, and has blonde hair, police said. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black shirt, blue jeans and brown shoes.
