Talk about going back to school!

Youngsters had a blast doing arts and crafts, taking a ride on a pony, and playing games during the Kings Bay Y Carnival at PS 100 on Oct. 14. And the carnival was more than just a fun day in the neighborhood — it was a sweet homecoming for one mom who went to the Coney Island school as a kid, but now lives all the way on the other side of the country, said Erica, who lives in California and declined to share her last name.

“It’s really nice to be back, we’re just visiting,” the former PS 100 pupil said, who brought along her two tots, 3-year-old Ariella and 1-year-old Elijah. “It was really fun, the kids enjoyed it. They face-painted, did some arts and crafts and activities, and did the pony rides.”

Little Ariella learned how to play chess and showed off her face painted like a lion, her mom said.

And going for a spin on the ponies was a major hit amongst the kiddos, said mom Helen Golduber, whose 5-year-old daughter loved it.

“I had a good time watching my daughter have a good time,” said Golduber, who lives in Brighton Beach.
