The Christmas spirit is brightening up the neighborhood!
The annual Christmas tree lighting at the Lady Moody Triangle in Gravesend on Dec. 4 featured seasonal songs and holiday dance routines. The celebration was the perfect way to kick off the winter season and spread Christmas cheer, said one elected official who attended the celebration.

“The Christmas tree lighting was great way to usher in the holiday spirit here in our community,” said state Sen. Marty Golden (R–Bay Ridge).
Students from PS 95 sang Christmas classics and showed off their dance moves while the crowd sipped on hot chocolate, and cheerleaders from IS 228 David A. Boody spread Christmas cheer.

But no Christmas celebration is complete without jolly old St. Nick, and Santa Claus jetted from the North Pole to celebrate the winter festivities with the community.
Golden said the red-suited hero was the reason the night was so magical.

“I felt the true excitement of the season among us all — and I know that the special visit from Santa Claus had something to do with it,” said Golden, who gleefully licked a candy cane while seated on Santa’s lap.
