Police are still looking for the man they say struck two 12-year-old boys in the face on a Gravesend street last week.
Authorities on Friday released security camera footage of the suspect, who cops say approached the youngsters at around 4:43 p.m. on April 18 near the corner of McDonald Avenue and Kings Highway. Shortly after, police say, the suspect struck them in both in the face.
The perp fled on food in an unknown direction, according to cops, while the two boys were taken by EMS to Maimondies Medical Center, where they were treated for minor injuries.
The suspect is described by police as a man with a light complexion and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark-colored pants, a blue backpack and multicolored sneakers.
Felony assaults are up 13% year-to-date in Brooklyn’s 61st Precinct, where the Kings Highway attack occurred. As of April 21 (when the most recent Police Department data is available), there were 78 reports of felony assault in the southern Brooklyn precinct — up from 69 reported during the same time last year.
Reports of rape and grand larceny auto are also up in the area, but reports of robbery, burglary, grand larceny and murder are down, according to the data.
